Hi, Big Al here in Marion County. This is the nice quiet spot between Monongahela and Harrison Counties. As Morgantown and Clarksburg have blossomed along I-79, Fairmont has shriveled to become the cheap place to live if you want to go north or south to work.
Being along I-79 Fairmont is a good starting place for many rides. I'll get into that later. First let's summarize what's available in Marion County. I'll tend to focus on the Fairmont end of the county but if anyone has a place they would like to mention on the western end please E-Mail Me.
Recommended Rides:

•SR 73 Fairmont (Speedway) to Goshen Road, I-79 return. This is a short half hour loop. Return back SR 73 for a low traffic route.
•SR 250 S to SR 50, then east to SR 72, south to SR 38, west to SR 250 near Phillippi, take SR 250 home. This is about 105 miles, 2 hours 15 minutes.
•SR 250 S to SR 50, then east to SR 72, north to SR 7, west to I-68, south to I-79, then south to home. This is about 105 miles, 2 hours 15 minutes. This is the north loop variation of the above ride. About 115 miles, 2 hours 20 minutes.
•SR 50 to Gormania and Mt. Storm connect to SR 90 and SR 93 to the Davis / Canaan Valley area and are great roads. You can take US 219 north to I-68 or South to SR 72 at Parsons then finish via one of the above loops. Around 130 miles, 3 hours.
     •SR 19 N to Rivesville, CR 19 W to Fairview, SR 218 S to Farmington, then SR 250 home. About 30 miles, 50 minutes.
     •SR 250 N to Farmington, SR 218 N to Blacksville, SR 7 E to I-79 then south to Fairmont. About 65 miles, 1-1/2 hours.
