WV Bikers - June 2006 Events

June 1: 5th Annual Juvenile Diabetes Benefit Run, sponsored by H.O.G. Borderline Chapter. Registration is at S & P Harley Davidson. First bike out at 11:00 a.m. and last bike out at 1:00 p.m. Donation of $10.00 per person. Finish at the River City Tavern & Grill of Marietta, OH. Last bike in at 5:00 p.m. and awards at 5:30 p.m. Free food provided by the River City Tavern. This run is to benefit area diabetic youth attending Camp Kno Koma.

June 6-15: Ohio Bike Week, Sandusky, OH.

June 7: Essence of Life 1st Annual Dorothy "Dot" Hamrick Memorial Poker Run in Marion County honoring Dorothy Dot Hamrick. Benefits Hope Inc. Domestic Violence Center. Public Welcome no bike necessary to participate. Entertainment and food games after the run. For more information 287-2609 or 695-7275

June 7: Benefit Run sponsored by Knights of His majesty, CMA Chapter 822 and the Salvation Army. The ride begins at Alley Park, just south of Lancaster, OH on U.S. 33. Registration is from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Last bike in at 4:00 p.m. Cost is $5.00 per person. There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd trophy at the end of the run. Come and enjoy the ride through the beautiful Hocking Hills. All proceeds go to benefit the Salvation Army Kids for Camp. This is a rain or shine run.

June 7: FOP Lodge #74 and FOPA Lodge #4 Car and Bike Show at the FOP Lodge on Woodrums Lane Charleston WV; 8 am to 3pm Top 20 Bikes and Special awards, Top 50 and Specials for the Cars. June 7: Elks Club Cystic Fibrosis Run, Marietta, OH.

June 8: 5th Annual Biker Sunday at the First Church of God, New Martinsville, WV. (Russell Ave. exit off Rt. 2 at stop light) Sunday Service begins at 10:30 a.m. There will be lunch under the pavilion at noon. There will be a “Ride for a Cure” group ride starting around 1:30 p.m. Any donation is appreciated but not a must to attend. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

June 10: Bike Night at Der Dog Haus, 2000 East 7th St., Parkersburg, WV. 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. All bikes welcome. Come out and have a good time with your fellow bikers.

June 13-15: Ohio Gold Wing Road Riders Association Buckeye State Rally in Marietta at the Washington County Fairgrounds.

June 13-15: Country Chrome’s Open House ~ Celebrating 22nd year in business. (Located south of Parkersburg, WV off I-77, Rockport Exit #161, south on 21 for 7 miles - east of Charleston, I-77 to Medina exit-153, turn right to old Rt. 21, left on Rt. 21 north 4 miles.) Friday 10:00 - 6:00, Saturday 8:00 - 6:00, and Sunday 10:00 - 4:00. Hot dogs .25, free beverages, free desserts. Everyone attending receives a free gift. Come in and register to win at $200.00 & $50.00 gift certificate good for Big Bike Show Chrome Retail Merchandise and register to win one of 5 $1,000.gift certificates that will be drawn nationally by Big Bike. June 14: Mystery Poker Run sponsored by the Dreamcatchers, Charleston, WV Chapter. Sign-up begins at 11:00 a.m. and last bike out at 12 noon from the Poor House, Dunbar, WV. Last bike in at 4:00 p.m. Cost is $10.00 single rider and $15.00 a couple. Prizes will be awarded to Best hand-rider, best hand-passenger, Worst hand, furthest distance rider, oldest & youngest rider and most participants from one group. June 14: Benefit Poker Run sponsored by the Sly Fox. This run is for the Wood County Foster Children. More details to come.

June 15: Dice Run for the hospitalized veterans at the Clarksburg facility. Sign-up 10:00 A.M. $10.00 per person. Last bike out 1:00 P.M. Last bike in 5:00 P.M. at The VA Park in Clarksburg, WV at the Osbourn Shelter. Following the run there will be free food supplied by the Clarksburg VFW. Sponsored by the Central WV H.O.G Chapter.

June 20-22: Pennsylvania ABATE State Party, Hazen, PA.

June 21: Jessica Ramsey Memorial Dice Run, sponsored by Blue Knights WV II. Registration begins at 9:30am at Anmore VFD (exit 117 off I-79). First bike out at 10am, last in at 3:30 pm. Field events begin at 2pm, awards at 4pm. For more info, call Ed Martin at 304-622-2116
